Foundations of Engineering

Course Description:

Foundations of Engineering and Technology is the introductory course for the Engineering and Technology Education pathways. This STEM driven course provides the students with an overview of engineering and technology including the different methods used in the engineering design process developing fundamental technology and engineering literacy. Students will demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have learned through various project based activities while using an engineering design process to successfullymaster the “E” in STEM.The pre-requisite for this course is advisor approval.

All engineering classes are project based.  We use the engineering design process as a map for completion of each project we do.  All assignments completed by the students are handed in to Schoology.  Parents can access all of their student's assignments by logging in to Schoology as a parent. They will be given that login at the beginning of the semester.

Our engineering focus at BHS is 3D CAD Design, F1 in Schools, Vex Robotics and 3D Printing.

We HIGHLY recommend our engineering students join our Technology Student Association!  Students benefit from joining TSA by being assigned special projects and field trips.  Click HERE to find out more about TSA!
